Easy Snickerdoodle Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for rolling)

  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 ½ cups sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the butter mixture and mix until combined.

  4. In a small bowl, stir together the 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon.

  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and coat in the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Place on prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

  6. Bake for 8–10 minutes, until cookies are set but still soft in the center.

  7. Let cool slightly, then share and enjoy!
