OCOP Express and Oak Cliff Office Products are pleased to support and participate in fighting childhood cancer by promoting Hammermill Paper during November and December 2011.

Hammermill, a division of International Paper (a long-time supplier to OCOP Express), became a partner of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the summer of 2011. As a first year pariticipant of the Thanks and Giving campaign, Hammermill plans to donate 10 percent of the purchase price of select Hammermill paper reams sold through distribution during the promotion.

Dealing with "Document Glut" - Deciding to shred or not shred

On Monday's email, we reminded everyone that on a regular basis you have to consider how you deal with a "new crop" documents on a regular basis. It usually comes down to some version of rearranging or adding to your files or discarding the document. Usually when the decision is to discard the old document, then one must evaluate whether or not shredding is necessary. "To shred or not to shred" that is the question. Today's blog is about items to consider if you have decided that you will shred.

We often say, "better safe, than sorry." When it comes to shredding the statment might never be more true. Did you know the U.S. Supreme Court in the recent California vs. Greenwood decision, implied that someone can legally dig through your trash looking for anything. They stated that the "expectation of privacy in trash left for collection in an area accessible to the public... is unreasonable." So dumpster diving for your company records could become a legal investigative technique of your competition.
